Switching to water-based glass coatings

Dear Reader,

The global glass coatings market in the EMEA region is an exciting sector, which comprises various sub-segments including mirrors, flat glass, bottles and tableware. Over the past years we have visited many customers to gain a deeper understanding of this fast-growing market.

While most of coating products remain solvent-based, there is a growing trend towards water-based glass coatings. These offer a high-performance solution with improved environmental credentials. Here the challenge is to provide chemical and water resistance.

Our rheology controlled acrylic emulsion, Joncryl® OH 8300 meets both needs for thermoset water-based glass coatings.

Apart from other news, you will find an article on Joncryl® OH 8300 in this newsletter issue. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Yours,

Rolf Alles

Switching to water-based glass coatings
In recent years, water-based coatings have gained in popularity among professionals and consumers alike as they offer a high-quality, environmentally friendly alternative to solvent-based products. By replacing solvents with water as a liquefying agent, these eco-friendly coatings are low odor, easy cleaning and have low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.
