PRETHINK INK: the new network for water-based technology

Dear Reader,

I hope you have been staying safe throughout these turbulent past few months. For us, the global crisis has highlighted the need for us all to work together and support each other even more closely, despite being kept apart. And it has given long-term projects, such as reducing the impact of plastic packaging on our planet, a new sense of urgency.

This is what our newest initiative is all about. We are excited to introduce you to PRETHINK INK: a collaborative network dedicated to raising awareness and sharing experiences of water-based inks for flexible packaging.

With plastic packaging production set to quadruple by 2050, every contribution to the sustainability of packaging will make a difference, and that includes ink formulation. PRETHINK INK aims to spread the word that water-based inks can play a viable part in the future of flexible packaging: they reduce VOCs entering the atmosphere, improve health and safety in production, and contribute to reduce the packaging’s carbon footprint.

PRETHINK INK is open to all stakeholders from right across the flexible packaging value chain, whether they are raw material producers, ink makers, machine OEMs, packaging manufacturers, or brand owners.
