Digital printing: Water-based technology is ready to shine

Joncryl® DPS water-based resins enable you to formulate a wide range of digital primers, inks and overprint varnishes (OPVs) for both absorbent and non-absorbent substrates.

Ink-jet printing is set to grow significantly and overtake electrophotography in label and packaging production in the next few years. Digital technology enables packaging to be printed in small quantities, making it suitable for custom-printed corrugated cardboard boxes and luxury vinyl tiles as well as for personalized labels – as found, say, on egg boxes from your local farm. Highly flexible, it can be combined with other printing methods and it allows different haptic effects, such as rough, soft, etc., to be applied to specific areas of a substrate. 

Besides colors, you can now transfer analogue primers and OPVs to digital technology. But you need the right formulation and here’s where Joncryl^® DPS resins come in. They are suitable for a broad variety of substrates, help to increase color density, have excellent jettability, are highly compatible with various pigment concentrates and with salt, and promote excellent lamination bond strength.

Water-based digital inks have environmental benefits, and they are safe.
